AIP Application Process:
1. Employer Qualification (2-3 months)
- The employer completes a job vacancy form and applies to become a designated employer under the Atlantic Immigration Pilot (AIP) in their respective province.
- The employer contacts a designated settlement service provider, undergoes cross cultural competency training, and arranges a suitable workplace for new employees.
- The employer obtains the designation as an employer in one of the Atlantic provinces.
- Based on the initial assessment, the employer recruits overseas talent and offers job opportunities
2. Provincial Endorsement by the Employer (2-3 months)
- The employer connects the employee with a settlement service provider.
- Applicants contact service providers to create settlement plans for themselves and their families.
- After receiving a detailed settlement plan, applicants provide it to the employer.
- The employer completes the provincial endorsement application and submits the job offer and settlement plan to the provincial authority.
- The provincial immigration office reviews and approves the provincial endorsement application, issuing a provincial endorsement letter to the applicant
3. Approved Immigration Application (12 months)
- Applicants apply for a work permit (if overseas) and permanent residency with Immigration, Refugees, and Citizenship Canada (IRCC). They submit the provincial endorsement letter and other relevant documents and undergo immigration medical examinations.
- Upon obtaining the work permit (approximately 3 months), applicants can arrive in Canada to work while awaiting the permanent residency application process.
- IRCC processes the permanent residency application, and approximately 80% of applications are processed within about 12 months.
