The Nova Scotia Occupations in Demand Immigration Program is designed for applicants working in specific semi-skilled (NOC 3) or low-skilled (NOC 5) job positions. The content of the demand occupation list is updated and adjusted by the provincial immigration office based on changes in labor market demand. The program's requirements for immigrant applicants include:
- Having a full-time permanent job offer from an employer within the province.
- The position being offered must be on the demand occupation list established by the provincial immigration office. - Age between 21 and 55 years old.
- Accumulating at least 12 months (1560 hours) of relevant work experience in the past 5 years, excluding unpaid internships.
- Having a high school diploma or higher from Canada, along with the necessary qualifications for the occupation.
- Meeting language requirements: CLB 4 or higher in English or French proficiency (IELTS General - Listening 4.5, Reading 3.5, Writing/Speaking not lower than 4).
- Having sufficient funds or income to support settlement in Nova Scotia.

Employer Qualification Requirements:
- Registered and operating within the province of Nova Scotia.
- The employer business has been in normal operation for at least 2 years at the commencement of employment.
- Recruitment can meet one of the following conditions:
- Possession of a Provincial Employer Registration Certificate along with a Labour Market Impact Assessment (LMIA).
- Recruitment activities, including job advertisements (for at least four consecutive weeks), interviews, etc., as determined by the circumstances.
- Applicant holding an open work permit.
